Write to us and a person reads it. Include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the name of the tide station involved — that answers most questions in one round trip.
My station is missing
Tide Chart lists the tide prediction stations published by NOAA CO-OPS. Search by place name or by the six or seven digit station ID. If a station near you publishes predictions but does not appear in the app, send us the station ID and we will look at it.
The heights look wrong
Check the datum and the units first: Tide Chart shows heights on the MLLW datum, in the unit you selected in Settings, in the tide station's local time. A printed table using a different datum will not match.
Beyond that, predictions are astronomical and do not include wind, pressure or surge. A strong onshore blow can hold the water well above the curve, and a hard offshore wind can drop it below.
I paid but the app is not unlocked
Open Settings inside the app and tap "Restore Purchases" while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not unlock, write to us with the date of purchase and we will help.
How do I cancel?
If you bought a subscription, it is managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Tide Chart. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running until it ends. A one-time purchase does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Use Apple's "Report a Problem" page at reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account you purchased with.
The widget is not updating
Widgets are refreshed by iOS on its own schedule and can lag by a few minutes. If a widget stays stale much longer, open the app once so it can write fresh data, and check that Background App Refresh and Low Power Mode are not blocking updates.
I am not getting alerts
Check that notifications are allowed for Tide Chart in iOS Settings under Notifications, that alerts are switched on in the app's own Settings, and that a Focus mode or scheduled summary is not holding them back.
Why does it ask for my location?
Only to list the tide stations nearest to you during setup, so you do not have to know a station name to get started. The app asks for coarse, kilometre-level accuracy, sorts NOAA's public station list by distance on your device, and never sends your position anywhere. You can decline and search by name or station ID instead.
Does it work offline?
Predictions for your saved spots are cached on the device, so the last forecast stays readable without signal. Fetching a new station or a longer range needs a connection.
Deleting your data
Tide Chart stores your spots and settings on your device and keeps no account. Removing the app deletes that data. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
